| This page is intended to help people with the basic sign-up process.
It does not get involved with paid-for accounts at this stage, but simply
registering someone in Network54. Once registered, you can post at more
forums than before, and you can also create free resources of your own
such as Realms (web space) and chat forums.

| Go to http://www.network54.com
and see the screen reproduced below. See that, in the middle of the page, is a link entitled Start Creating.
Click on that link. |
 |
| A new screen opens (below) requiring you to complete a few data fields.
The Login name you choose must be unique, or it will be rejected when the
form is submitted. Make sure that the name is typed exactly as you want
to use it. The name I have chosen below is "MiniWeb" and so that will be
the name of the account (not miniweb or MINIWEB or even Miniweb, but MiniWeb).
The same applies to your chosen password, which you must insert twice (a
row of asterisks appears instead of your chosen characters). It is important
to use a valid email address as this may later be required to validate
your rightful account ownership. Some details are optional, but you must
click in the check box to say you agree to Network54's terms and conditions.
If you are uncertain about them, then read them first. Something I recommend
is that you have a password reminder sent to you at fixed intervals. You'd
be surprised how many people can't remember their ID and password after
a long holiday.
Click on the Create Account link and the form is submitted to
Network54 for approval. Within seconds there will be a response by way
of a new screen. It may say that your chosen name is already in use or
there is some other problem with it or the password. Read the message,
understand what is being said, and correct the problem. If/when all is
well, the process will continue through a page of advertising/contact options,
none of which you have to agree to. |
 |
| Finally, you will get to the screen below which says your account has
been created. It also offers you an option for an Express Setup (for Networ54 Newbies) or Custom Setup (which is the usual MyAccount screen whenever you want to edit your account or your Resources). |
 |
| So now you are taken straight to your MyAccount page (below) showing
you what Network54 Resources you are presently signed for (presently none)
and allowing you to create new ones. It may be that you have signed up
to Network54 only so that you can post at someone else's forum, and do
not wish to create one of your own, which is fine. You don't need
to create your own Realm, Forum or Live Chat area, but you can do, if you
want to. This is where they would all be created, and where they would
all be listed. |
